Jennifer Ewan, JD

JENN EWAN, J.D. is Senior Counsel with Michael Best & Friedrich, LLP. She is responsible for supporting startup and growth phase companies as well as employment and corporate matters of all types. Prior to joining Michael Best, Jenn worked at the Missoula Economic Partnership, pro-actively identifying and courting related investment opportunities; maintaining strong funding partner relationships; scoping, implementing, and leading MEP special projects, especially those focused on Data Science/Technology. Jenn also worked as in-house Counsel for TeraDact Solutions, Inc., a software company, and prior to that at Geographic Communication Systems (GCS) as Counsel & Director of Business Development where she coordinated and implemented marketing plans designed to maintain and increase existing business and capture new opportunities; drafted, negotiated and reviewed commercial contracts; and researched, reviewed, and advised on other related national and international law issues. Prior to GCS, Jenn spent five and a half years as Field Director and Counsel with former Chairman of the U.S. Finance Committee Senator Max Baucus. She’s also been a prosecutor, a bartender, a wildland firefighter, a newspaper delivery lady, and a computer graphics generator at KECI. Jenn is a graduate of the University of Montana, receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Montana School of Law.

For fun, she likes to take spontaneous road trips to places with good food and good people. She loves watching movies at The Roxy and foreign films. She enjoys cross country skiing, traveling, hiking, hanging with her kiddos, Kade & Kai, and fixing up her home and backyard. She is supporting the DDC because she believes dancing is one of the best ways to get exercise and to connect with another person because you can do it at any age. In regards to dancing and music – SHE LOVES IT – all kinds. It’s her therapy. Jenn once tried to use her connections with Senator Baucus’s office to get on the original Dancing with the Stars on ABC. Needless to say, that didn’t go far. She was promptly informed by an intern at ABC that when ABC is considering people who have absolutely no star power – at all – they will reach out. She waited a very long time. She is thrilled to be a part of Dancing with the Missoula Stars!
